I’d like to take this opportunity to encourage any of you that have been thinking of seeing The Byrds Collective live, do it on May 27th at the Topanga Days Fair. This will be my last show with the guys. As one of the origial founders and spending over three years with the group, I will be leaving The Byrds Collective to concentrate on a couple other projects I have been working with. Fire’N Ice (a Pat Benatar tribute act) andButch Young, a very fresh and interesting pop song writer (along with ex Collective drummer Dave Denk) .
My time with the group has been the most fun I’ve had with any band I’ve worked with. Mark, Dave, Ken and Gary are a great bunch of guys and I know they will have continued success as the one of the premire Byrds tribute acts in the country. I look forward to seeing all our friends and fans at my last show.
- Pat
4/26/2012 - We have just confirmed that The Byrds Collective will be performing once again at the Topanga Days Country Fair this Memorial Day Weekend. Our show will be Sunday, May 27th at 2:30 pm on the Corral Stage. This is a very historic venue for '60s music. If you missed the show in Antioch, please don't miss this performance.
A quote from Wikipedia: The Topanga Corral was a nightclub that featured an eclectic mix of performers, including then Topanga locals Canned Heat, Spirit, Little Feat, Spanky and Our Gang, Taj Mahal, Emmylou Harris, Etta James, Windance, Neil Young, and Crazy Horse, Geronimo Black, and many others. It is rumored that Jim Morrison was inspired to write "Roadhouse Blues" about the drive up Topanga Canyon Boulevard to The Corral.
Tickets:$20, TCC Members & Military: $15, Children 6-12 & Seniors 65+: $10, Children 5 & under: FREE!
4/17/2012 - After many requests from our last show, we have released the video that is shown during our song, Have You Seen Her Face.
4/16/2012 A Big Thank You!
Thank you to everyone that attended Saturday's show. The audience reaction was more than we could ever had hoped for. It's fantastic to know that there are so many people out there that love, and will support the Byrds music. With great fans like you, this music will live on forever. Thank you so much for letting us share it with you.
11/18/2011 - While were are mixing the tracks to our new CD (yet, still untitled), we decided to go back through the first CD (Collecitve Hits) and see if we couldn't improve on the sound. We'll thanks to some pretty great software, we've remastered our songs. I think you'll agree, that you'll hear more of the jangle of the rickenbacker 12 string, and more presence on the vocals. I think you'll hear more of the instrumentation that were recorded on these tracks.
We've uploaded them to the player below. Please enjoy the remastered songs, and let us know what you think.
Also, we plan on releasing our yet untitiled CD by the end of the year. Until then, thank you for all the support.
Photos of our recording session 10/09/2011. Watch for a new CD coming late this 2011!
THE BYRDS COLLECTIVE, a five-man band of veteran Los Angeles-area musicians and singers, share a collective passion for the music of The Byrds, the first and greatest folk-rock group of the 1960s and the originator of the "L.A. Sound" that dominated popular music for decades.
THE BYRDS COLLECTIVE takes you back to L.A.'s "hip" music scene of Ciro's, The Troubadour and The Whisky A Go Go in the 1960's, when folk rock emerged from the shadows of the Beatles and other "British Invasion" groups. The five members of The Byrds Collective reproduce the exciting sounds of The Byrds between 1965 and 1970. From the opening chords of "Mr. Tambourine Man," you'll swear that Roger Mcguinn, David Crosby, Gene Clarke, Chris Hillman and Michael Clark have reunited for one more concert. THE BYRDS COLLECTIVE faithfully recreates The Byrds' unique sound, right down to the vintage Rickenbacker 12 string the group made so popular. Everything is as it was–the harmonies, the "jingle-jangle" guitars, the driving bass and the steady beat of the drums. No synthesizers and no tape loops are used. It's just about the music and how it was made back in 1965. Come share the history and music of The Byrds, performed by THE BYRDS COLLECTIVE.
The Byrds Collective, always a hit with me. - JimK
I've said it before; I think the Byrds Collective's vocals sound better than the original. - PA.
I just listed to the link Greg recently posted to the Byrds Collective website and this time I was amazed. To me, these guys sound better than the Byrds in some ways, and although they may not have written the songs they sure in the hell do a beyond excellent job of sounding like the record especially in their harmonies. One major difference is they sound better in concert than the Byrds did, but I don't want to get too much into that, after all I've heard the members of the Byrds often had problems with Crosby and his outspokenness on stage, but then again so did the Eagles with fruequent argments.
How long have these guys been together, what did they do before and what did each of the members of the group do in the past? Living in Los Angeles I demand to know this !!! Better yet ....maybe I’ll just keep reading .... -EdC.

The Byrds Collective performance on Friday evening at the Brixton in Redondo was a big hit. You guys sounded great and everyone in the band seemed in a festive mood with Ken back there singing and playing with you ! The couple of Beatles songs were a treat for everyone too !
It’s always a pleasure to see you guys playing because BC really have the essence of a cohesive band, playing with true dedication. Your “collective” love of the Byrds music transcends each performance – which may not be the case with so many other “Tribute Bands”.
The complex vocals of the Byrds music comes through with BC’s great renditions and your music skills are top notch. Besides all that stuff, you guys are just some of the nicest guys, friendly and sharing with everybody in the audience. And some of us share a mutual enjoyment of Rickenbackers!
Keep on rockin ! -Rich Ferguson
If there's a heaven this is what it would sound like.- tony22745
Thank you Tony for probably the nicest comment we have ever received.

6/18/2011 .... a lot of people missed a great show. We have been to the Neil Young and U2 concerts and so far the Byrds concert was our favorite. Their sound was spot on. They even ventured in to Beatle songs as well as Tom Petty and the Band. We really hope they are back next year.
5/30/2011 - That was great show today Chuck! Expert musicianship and fine harmony! AND... You sounded just like the Byrds. Even that Chimey guitar sound they had. The show evoked a lot of emotions from the past and the sound was so exacting, the Corral Stage was like a kind of time machine for that hour and a quarter you guys owned the stage. You even brought me to tears with "He Was a Friend of Mine." I'll put up some pics tomorrow when I've had some sleep. Really awesome!
